During two student referendums in the Fall of 2007 and Spring of 2008, 85% of the voting student body declared their support of raising student fees to $20 to contribute to the Green EDGE Fund. In the Fall of 2013, a student referendum called  for the creation of a local carbon-offsetting program to work towards the College's goal of Carbon Neutrality by 2025. To address this need, the Carbon Management Fund was created by a group of Oberlin Students, and subsequently positioned within the Green EDGE Fund. Since Fall of 2014, a $25 Green EDGE Fund Fee has been assessed as a line item on our terms bills each semester ($20 of which goes the Sustainability Grant Account and $5 going to the Carbon Management Fund Account). In turn, the Green EDGE Fund uses this money to fund efficiency and sustainability projects and carbon offsetting projects on campus and in the broader Oberlin community.

Importantly, this $25 semesterly fee is also completely waivable. To waive the fee, you simply need to submit a Green EDGE Fee Waiver to the Office of Student Accounts (Carnegie Building, Room 122) within the first two weeks of classes. While the waiver is available in the Office of Student Accounts, we have also provided it below.
